Private security firm lands massive contract for detainee transport across Texas.

The Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement has awarded GardaWorld Federal Services LLC a $100.5 million contract to provide 24/7 armed ground transportation for individuals in ICE custody across all 254 Texas counties, effective September 1, 2026. The contract includes dispatch, secure portal, documentation, fleet readiness, and quality control.

A $100M Texas transport contract signals the administration's commitment to detention-scale immigration enforcement.

GardaWorld Federal Services (private) wins the direct award. This is a massive enforcement-focused contract that reflects the Trump administration's immigration priorities. The company now operates the entire ICE transport infrastructure for Texas—a critical logistics function for detention operations.

The GEO Group (GEO) and CoreCivic (CXW), the two largest private prison operators, benefit indirectly. More detainees in custody means more bed demand at their facilities. Both stocks are leveraged to detention-bed utilization and enforcement spending. The contract also signals sustained federal spending on immigration infrastructure.

Public defenders and immigrant advocacy groups face increased enforcement capacity, but no public company loses directly from this award.

Watch for similar transport contracts in other states and whether detention-bed occupancy rises at GEO and CoreCivic facilities.
