Washington has decided the American grid is a national-security problem. The Department of Energy's Loan Programs Office is deploying tens of billions in loan guarantees under Title XVII to accelerate long-distance transmission, while FERC Order 1920 — the agency's most sweeping transmission-planning rule in a generation — requires regional grid operators to project needs 20 years out and build accordingly. The policy machinery is now pointed squarely at physical infrastructure. That means someone has to string the wire.
That someone is almost certainly PWR.
